Our Mission and Vision Statements says everthig about us. We are about Connecting people to God, Growing in faith, and Serving others with the love of Jesus. The three words: Connecting, Growing, and Serving is the process in which we use to encourage one another toward a growing faith in Jesus.

In fact you will see these same three words within the various age based ministries here at Oakhurst. We want to encourage you to check out the areas of interest and contact those listed for more information or to explore how you can connect with these ministries.

Our time of worship is a weekly opportunity to Connect people to King Jesus in  worship and practical easy to understand teaching from the Bible.  Our time of worship is our first step in encouraging one another in a growing faith in Jesus.

Our Sunday School ministry is designed to connect people with one another in order to encourage one another toward a Growing faith in Christ. Each group is a safe place for all to find real answers about faith and the struggles of life. In these groups you can make meaningful connections and relationships while sharing life together. Our Sunday School ministry is our second step in encouraging one another in a growing faith in Jesus.

Our Serving ministry is a place where you can use your spiritual gifts, talents, and passions to tangibly serve others with the love of Jesus.   For some this place of Serving is inside the church serving as a greeter, nursery, Sunday School teacher, or serving within the many ministries here at Oakhurst. For most this place of Serving is outside of the church serving with one of our local partners like CUOC, Your Choices, Family Crisis Center, or Guy B. Teachey Elementary School. We also serve various ways around the state, nation, and internationally. This is our third step in encouraging one another in a growing faith in Jesus.

The sole basis for all our beliefs are outlined in the Bible: which is uniquely God inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-each possessing all the attributes of deity.

We believe that God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from God. Salvation comes only through God’s grace-not human effort-and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between people and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.

For a more detailed list of our beliefs we refer you to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Loving Jesus, Loving Others, Make Disciples

Connecting People to God, Growing in Faith, and Serving Others with the Love of Jesus.

Our mission and vision is CONNECTING people with the Lord Jesus Chirst through worship, prayer, and the preaching and teaching of the Bible,  encouraging each other toward Growing in your faith in Jesus and to grow in relationship with one another, and serving in our community, city, state, nation, and world.

ACTS 2:42

"They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (NASB)

MATTHEW  22:37-39

“And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (NASB)

MATTHEW  28:19-20

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NASB)

Invest, Invite, Include

We are to Invest in meaningful relationship with those that our lives intersect, Invite them to church, and Include them within our Sunday School groups and times of serving.

I am so grateful for all this church does for my daughters. They are growing spiritually thanks to the youth group they provide. I am grateful for the prayers for my daughter while she was in surgery. Thank you all so much.

In 1941, three ministers saw the need for a church in the growing southern edge of Asheboro. The church was originally called Macedonia Non-Denominational Society. In 1943 this new church voted to align with the Southern Baptist and renamed itself, New Macedonia Baptist Church. In 1946, the church underwent another name change to Oakhurst Baptist Chruch, a name that was borrowed from an adjacent subdivision.

The Lord has richly blessed Oakhurst since it's founding  with lives being changed because of the power of the gospel.  Today we continue to trive as peole come to faith in Jesus, baptisms, baby dedications, and multiple local partnerships that we serve and support.

BIBLICAL AUTHORITY: The Oakhurst family stands on the truthfulness and authority of the Bible in all that we do in life.

POWER OF PRAYER: We value the joy and privilege of prayer to a gracious and loving God. We also rejoice in the confidence that the Lord hears our prayers and therefore there is power in prayer.

PASSIONATE WORSHIP: It is the Lord alone that is worship of worship. Therefore we value a joyous celebration of the Lord that brings the people of God to a place of worship.

AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY: We value sharing life together in authentic community. The importance of this authentic community is: development of relationships, encouragement, support, and accountability.

STRATEGIC SERVICE: We as believers are to be the hands and feet of the Lord. By being the hands and feet of Jesus we are tasked to show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways. Further we serve strategically to make much of Jesus in Asheboro, North Carolina, United States, and around the world.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

1 Thessalonians 5:11

"Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing."
